The group provides predictive simulations of:
high-harmonic spectra of solids upon strong laser field, from UV to mid IR, and the related electron excitation dynamics (TDDFT), [1-2]
– thermal and excitation predictions of metals and semiconductors using advanced two-temperature modeling [3-7] (completed by first-principles features [1]) for materials’ nanostructuring [8-12], chemical functionalization [6] and damage [7] induced by ultrashort laser pulses,
polaritonic and plasmonic effects (field enhancement, nanostructuring [8-12]) in nano- and micrometric systems (nanoparticle, tips, thin films [7]),
– prediction of photo-emission spectra [2, in development],
– energy- and time-resolved pump-probe reflectivity (UV-IR) in the regime of materials modification.

Organizational aspects

To improve understanding with students, collaborators, and funding agencies, I provide here an example of working time breakdown. Among last 12 months (~ 2000 h of work for 1 FTE), distribution of activities for 1 FTE has been more or less distributed as follows.

  • Management of project funds: 446 hours (22%).
  • Working on publications: 415 hours (20%).
  • Supervision of students: 280 hours (14%).
  • Working on collaborative works: 235 hours (11%).
  • Fulfilling obligatory administrative duties: 220 hours (11%).
  • Preparing and going to conferences: 215 hours (11%).
  • Time optimization and planning: 100 hours (5%).
  • Computational administration for the department: 103 hours (5%).
  • Developing collaborations abroad: 78 hours (4%).

Analysis shows that we are more or less doing everything by ourselves, and that main activities are management, publishing and supervising students.
